Using the Editor Sidebar Panel
Open the editing screen for a post or page, and in the settings sidebar on the right (toggle it with the gear icon in the upper right), open the “Write Buddy” panel to access the following four features. If an API key has not been registered, a warning will appear at the top of the panel, so please complete the API settings first.
Generate Featured Image
Based on the content of the post, the AI automatically generates a featured image (this feature is not available if you are using an Anthropic (Claude) API key).
- Click the “Generate Featured Image” button.
- (Optional) Reference image: Specify a reference image. You can drag and drop it into the image area, or click the “Select Image” button to open the media library and choose one. An image will still be generated even without a reference image.
- (Optional) Prompt (specifying direction): In this field, describe the image you’d like generated (for example, “make it photorealistic with bright colors” or “make it illustration-style with a minimal design”). If you want text included in the image, you can specify this here, but accurate rendering of the text is not guaranteed (non-Latin characters, such as Japanese, are especially prone to distortion).
- Click the “Generate Image” button. While generating, the display will read “Considering composition and generating image…” (because the AI first considers the image’s composition and prompt, then generates the actual image, this can take tens of seconds).
- Once generation is complete, the image is set as the post’s featured image immediately, without a confirmation step.
Proofread Content
The AI checks for typos, omissions, and expressions that could be improved.
- Click the “Proofread Content” button.
- Once the check is complete, a list of flagged issues is displayed. Each issue shows a quote of the relevant passage, the AI’s explanation, and a suggested correction (if available).
- Click “Jump to location” for a given issue to select the corresponding block in the editor (if the content has since changed and the corresponding text cannot be found, “The corresponding text could not be found. The content may have been changed.” is displayed).
- Once you have made a correction, click “Mark as resolved” for that issue. It will be hidden from the list.
- You can show or hide the list of issues using the “Show Issues (count)” / “Hide Issues” links.
- If you edit the content after proofreading, a message reading “The content has changed. We recommend re-scanning.” will appear. To reflect your edits, run “Proofread Content” again.
- If all issues have been marked as resolved, or if no issues were found in the first place, a notice reading “All issues have been resolved.” / “No issues were found.” will be displayed (it can be closed with the × button).
Proofreading results are saved per post, so even if you close the editing screen after saving a draft, the previous issues will still be there when you reopen it.
Quick Article Generator
Enter reference URLs, files, and instructions describing what you’d like written, and the AI will generate a title and body content for you.
Input Step
- Click the “Quick Article Generator” button.
- (Optional) Reference URLs: Enter the URLs of pages you’d like to use as references, one per line (up to 5). The URLs you enter will automatically be listed as reference links at the end of the generated article.
- (Optional) Reference files: Use the “Add File” button to add reference files (
.txt,.md, and.docxformats only, up to 3MB per file). After adding a file, it will take a moment for its content to finish loading. You can remove a file you no longer need with “Delete”. If you add an unsupported file format, “Unsupported file format (txt, md, and docx only)” will be displayed. - In the “What kind of article would you like? (required)” field, enter the content and conditions for the article you want written (for example, “Write a beginner-friendly article that carefully explains how to do XX”). The “Generate Article” button cannot be clicked while this field is empty or while a reference file is still loading.
- Click “Generate Article”. While generating, the button label changes to “Creating article…”.
Confirmation Step
- A preview of the generated title and body content is displayed.
- A warning reading “Applying this will replace the current post’s title and body with the generated content (the original content will be lost).” is displayed, so please review the content carefully.
- If you want to revise the content, click “Back” to return to the input step (the content you entered will be preserved).
- If you are satisfied with the content, click “Apply (Overwrite)” to replace the post’s title and body with the generated content.
The generated body content consists only of basic HTML elements such as paragraphs, headings, lists, emphasis, and links (images, tables, and special blocks are not included). In addition, up to 8,000 characters per reference item, and up to 20,000 characters in total, are sent to the AI.
Ask the AI Buddy (Chat)
This is a chat feature that lets you casually consult the AI about your article. You can also make requests conversationally, such as editing requests like “make this paragraph more polite” or requests like “create a featured image.”
- Click the “Ask the AI Buddy” button to open the chat window.
- Enter your message in the input field at the bottom and click “Send”.
- When you ask the AI to make an edit or generate a featured image, a proposal card will appear in the chat. Proposed changes are never applied automatically — user confirmation and action are always required.
Responding to an “Edit Proposal”
The text before and after the change, along with the AI’s reason for the change, are displayed.
- Click “Apply” to replace the relevant passage in the body content. If the same wording appears in multiple places, if the change spans multiple paragraphs, or if the relevant passage cannot be found, an error message will be displayed guiding you to make the edit manually.
- Click “Reject” and the proposal will not be applied; “Rejected.” will be displayed (in this case, no communication with the server occurs).
Responding to a “Featured Image Proposal”
The image direction (style) proposed by the AI is displayed.
- Click “Generate” and an image will be generated in that direction and set as the post’s featured image immediately.
- Click “Reject” and the proposal will be dismissed.
