HAMONI Inc. establishes the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter, “this Policy”) regarding the handling of User information in connection with the WordPress plugin “Write Buddy” and related services (hereinafter, the “Service”) provided by HAMONI Inc.

2. Technical Characteristics of the Service
The Service has the following technical characteristics. Please read each section of this Policy with these characteristics in mind.
- The Service operates as a WordPress plugin, installed and running on the WordPress site managed by the User.
- The API key entered to use the AI functions of the Service is stored in encrypted form in the database of the User’s own WordPress site and is not transmitted to or stored on HAMONI Inc.’s servers.
- Post content, prompts, and other information transmitted when using the AI functions (featured image generation, proofreading, article draft creation, chat) are sent directly from the User’s WordPress site to the AI provider selected by the User (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google). HAMONI Inc.’s servers do not mediate or store this communication.
- License management and the purchase process for the Service are conducted through Freemius, Inc. (hereinafter, “Freemius”), a third-party service.
3. Information Collected
3.1 Information Relating to Purchase and License Management (via Freemius)
When you purchase the Service, the following information is collected through Freemius. This information is primarily collected and managed by Freemius on behalf of HAMONI Inc., and Freemius’s own Privacy Policy applies to it.
- Name and email address
- Payment information (such as credit card information; HAMONI Inc. does not retain the payment information itself, such as card numbers)
- The plan purchased, license key, and date and time of purchase
- Technical information, such as the URL of the WordPress site and the WordPress/PHP version, used for license authentication (this may be collected only where the User has opted in)
3.2 Information Transmitted When Using the AI Functions
When a User uses the AI functions of the Service, the following information is transmitted directly from the User’s WordPress site to the AI Provider selected by the User.
- The title and body text of the post
- Prompts entered by the User (such as style specifications, direction for article generation, and chat conversation content)
- URLs designated for reference, uploaded files (txt, md, docx), and reference images
This information is processed based on the direct relationship between the User and the AI Provider, and the privacy policy established by the relevant AI Provider applies. HAMONI Inc. does not store, view, or analyze the content of this information.
3.3 Browsing Information for HAMONI Inc.’s Website (the Informational Site Including This Page)
The informational website for the Service (this website) does not use tracking technologies such as cookies or localStorage to switch the display language. Standard web server access logs (such as IP address, access date and time, and pages viewed) may be temporarily recorded for security and troubleshooting purposes.
4. Purpose of Use
HAMONI Inc. uses the information collected for the following purposes.
- To provide the Service and to authenticate and manage licenses
- To bill for and process payment of usage fees (conducted through Freemius and its affiliated payment processing providers)
- To respond to inquiries and provide customer support
- To address defects in the Service, improve its quality, and consider new features
- To respond to acts that violate the Terms of Service
- To respond to matters required by law
5. Provision to Third Parties / Outsourcing
HAMONI Inc. does not provide Users’ personal information to third parties, except in the following cases.
- Where the User has consented
- Where required by law
- Where necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent
However, the following third parties, each as an independent business operator, handle information within the following scope.
- Freemius, Inc. — As the outsourced provider of license management and payment processing, handles information relating to purchases and billing.
- AI Providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) — Selected and used directly by the User, using the User’s own API key and account; this does not constitute a third-party provision outsourced by HAMONI Inc. Such use is processed based on the direct contractual relationship between the User and the relevant AI Provider.
6. Retention Period and Deletion
- API keys, model settings, and other such data are stored in the database of the User’s WordPress site and are deleted at the time the User uninstalls the Service’s plugin.
- Purchase and license information managed by Freemius is retained in accordance with the retention period established by Freemius.
- The retention period for information transmitted to an AI Provider is governed by the policy established by the relevant AI Provider.
7. Provision to Third Parties Located Overseas
The AI Providers selected by Users (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) are all operators with servers located outside Japan (primarily in the United States). When a User uses the AI functions, information such as post content may be processed on servers outside Japan, based on the agreement between the User and the relevant AI Provider. In addition, payment processing by Freemius may also be conducted through operators located outside Japan.
8. User Rights
Users may request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, or suspension of use of their own personal information held by HAMONI Inc., as provided by law. Please note that for account information managed by Freemius, please contact Freemius directly through the Freemius account management screen or otherwise.
9. Use by Minors
The Service is intended for use by business operators, sole proprietors, and personnel of corporations that operate WordPress sites. If a minor wishes to use the Service, they should do so with the consent of a parent or other legal guardian.
10. Changes to This Policy
HAMONI Inc. may change this Policy in response to changes in laws and regulations or changes in the content of the Service. In the event of a material change, HAMONI Inc. will notify Users by posting on this website or by other appropriate means.
